Switch

Its really funny how my mind is structured. I mean, I'm in the midst of my much dreaded promotional exams, yet I bought Prince of Tennis guidebook 20.5, borrowed the Best of L'Arc~en~Ciel CD from Kaen, am going shopping tomorrow, making plans for the photoshoot, watching Moon Child... In short, everything but to properly study for my exams. I suppose I'll need a minor miracle to keep my combination. Argh. So whatever I'm doing is the opposite of what I'm suppose to do. When people are having fun, I tend to whip out my Literature text to read, when people are studying like there is no tomorrow, I'm here enjoying the brief respite the lousy exam timetable my school has provided me with, instead of optimising it to study. Well, my mental make-up is a huge joke.

Hyde is a really amazing singer. One minute he sounds decidedly annoying, the next, he sounds heavenly. Forget the falsetto, I know he is suppose to be great at that, but I way prefer his normal singing voice. Sounds hotter. Haha. L'Arc~en~Ciel has a very psychedelic quality. I guess its because they were targeted at the 1990s teens, a good decade ago, but, as their music is actually rather bearable for a non-classic band, I must applaude their abaility to remain relevant.

I'm having problems with Tyki's trenchcoat (?). I guess its really too 1800s for commercial stores to stock it. Urgh. There is also the probability of melting form the heat. Why? Simple. Other than the white shirt, Ty
ki wears a black vest under the trenchcoat, with a white cravat topping it all off. Unless it rains, which will only serve to get my shoes and edges of the long pants wet, or you somehow conjure up a magical way for me to move from my house to location in full air-con and on top of that, the location of the photoshoot is also air-conditioned. Otherwise, I can forsee myself sweating buckets and soaking the entire costume. Argh. Icky. Gross. Unglamourous. Did I mention that there is also a black top hat to go with it? And that the trenchcoat and pants are also black? Another slight miracle would be the maintainence of Tyki's impeccable gentleman-ly aura when I'm hot, tired and haggard-looking. Wow. Loads of miracles need to be happening concurrently...

Kaen, I want Atobe's Mitai no Arukee. Like now! And please look for Torasoru no Torikago.

I admit that what I observed is true. While Seigaku songs are meant to be funny, endearing and plain romanticizing of each other, think Arigatou; Hyotei songs tend to be about the glory of victory, perserverance, determintaion, will power... Perfect for the cults like my school's canoe team. Yup. Except that they are much hotter in Hyotei. Serious. Anyway, Hyotei songs give you the singing-in-pouring-rain-staring-at-the-sky-maybe-crying-pulling-at-shirt kinf of feeling. I can so totally picture Atobe doing it. It fits in perfectly with his slightly suffering, misunderstood, aiming -for-greater-glory image. That, coupled with his dive attitude makes him a... misunderstood diva? Huh? Shall analyse this another day. Meanwhile, I am content to know that he is the President of the Student Council in Hyotei (duh), Libra, 1.73m, 62kg and shortens his school shirt to be able to show off his abs when he raises his arm to perform his trademark snap. I'm serious.

Okay. My fingers are sort of on strike today. Typing really very slowly. Shall leave now. Here's Kaen labour of love for all to enjoy. Quite nice if I say so myself.

Imperial

If I could fall further in love with Atobe Keigo, I would. Now I understand what it means to married couples who renew their wedding vows after a few years, I mean, I suppose its a reminder of the ignition of thier love for each other, etcetra. Anyway, Kaen passed me Insight by JunJun. Now its like ringing in my head. If there's one good thing about the music player that my brain is, it is able to keep playing the parts that I want the most, over and over again. And I remembered what exactly is so absolutely wonderful about Kei-chan, other than his attitude and values. The awesome, mind-blowing aural sin that is JunJun's voice that comes packaged with him. Kyaaah!

Oh, here are the translation of the Insight:

What do you wish for, when you've lost everything?

There is no hesitation in that heart

What do you wish to see overflowing from me?
There is no resignation reflected in these eyes of mine

Those days, which we pledged upon the rising sun
Kick aside that which supported me in battle
Insight - the shadows of the fight shall burn
As even the sweat dances in the parched sky
Passing across the distant time

My skill will reveal itself here

For the legend begins with me

What do you wish for, when all have vanished?

There is no confusion in that heart

I offer my prayers upon a silver cross

And kick away the weakness of youthful nights

Insight - it is clear, the shadows of victory

As heated breaths dampen my hair

Passing across the distant time

My genius will reveal itself here

For the truth begins with me

Those days, which we pledged upon the rising sun

Kick aside that which supported me in battle
Insight - the shadows of the fight shall burn

As even the sweat dances in the parched sky

Passing across the distant time

My skill will reveal itself here

Insight - it is clear, the shadows of victory

As heated breaths dampen my hair
Passing across the distant time

My genius will reveal itself here

For the legend begins with me

Amazing
isn't it? Sigh. Yukimura's seiyuu is also a wonderful singer. The quality is rather distinct, although I will have to listen to a few more songs of hers before I'm able to pick out ther voice anywhere, anytime when she is singing, the way I know its Okiayu or JunJun regardless of what they sing. Haha. I have sensitive ears.

Kazuki should absolutely keep his hair shorter. I saw a picture of him with short hair (shorter than his role in Kamen Rider Kabuto anyway), and he looked about 10 years younger! Really! So short hair, no matter how tempting it is to grow a mop atop your head. I had no idea that Kazuki plays tennis, although he no doubt would have to learn how to hit a ball for TeniMyu and DreamLive, but I had no idea that he well plays tennis recreationally. It must be one of the most irritating ball games on the planet, behind basketball, netball, soccer, football, rugby, floorball, hockey, volleyball... Oops. Thats a lot. Okay, I admit it, it not horrible. Just a little... not to my taste. Wait. There possibly isn't a single sport that I enjoy. Oops. So its not counted. Haha.

OMG!!!! Kei-cha
n has a PURPLE cell phone!!!! OMG!!!!! I chanced upon it at the Hyotei fansite. I have linked it, and here is a warning to all young, innocent, impressionable, naive and adorable children out there. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT read the fanficts. It would make you bang your head against the table, screaming "MY EYES! MY EYES!". Yup. I have delivered my warning. Ignore it at your own peril. Okay.

A yummy photo of Kei-chan for those who think he isn't hot enough, or want to re-fall in love with his imperial hotness agin. Enjoy.

Freeze

Today is Mrs Serene Ng's funeral. She was my Secondary Four Form and Elementary Mathematics teacher. She died from complications during labour, leaving behind her husband, daughter and newborn baby. I thank her for her dedication to teaching and my condolences to her family. Thank you for being there in my journey, I hope you had great times in yours too.

This brings to mind the idea of Bildungsroman, life as le
arning, and the idea of a picaresque model, life as a journey, which I learnt in Literature from my very dedicated teacher. Thank you to all the people who shaped my social and academic learning. Ganshoushimasu.

On a lighter, yet equally depressing note, I sobbed away 2 hours in front of the television while watching Moon Child, a movie with both Japanese and Chinese dialogue, starring Hyde from L'arc-en-ciel, Gackt, Wang Lee Hom among others. Really touching show, amidst all the gun-slinging, mass-shooting action. About loyalty and friendship, and a greater love not of fair lips and smooth skin, but one bound by tribulations and blood. Yep. I'm sort of paraphrasing Wilfred Owen. I do study Literature you know. Sigh. The actors were not particularly handsome or physically appealing in any manner, well maybe except Kanata Hongo who was the child version of the protaganist, I mean he had this awfully winsome and innocent smile..., but they
really made me cry my poor heart out when the characters all died. It was a movie of characters. Not caricatures.

To be more positive, I shall put down things of little importance that make my sun rise and moon set.

Leys start with my ideal line-up for Prince Of Tennis:

Option 1, Kikimaru-Fuji Doubles 2, Oshitari-Gakuto Doubles 1, Sanada Singles 3, Tachibana Singles 2, Keigo-chan Singles 1.

Or,

Option 2, Sanada-Fuji Doubles 2, Keigo-Seiichi Doubles 1, "Perfect-Tennis-Guy" Singles 3, Fuji Singles 2, Tachibana Singles 1.

Kaen says that my Keigo-Seiichi pairing would win not because of their impressive tennis skills, but because they frightened their opponent to death. I agree. Its like choosing to be killed by either Apollo or Poseidon. Between a rock and a hard place. Yup. The kind of Doubles pair thats made to zap all their opponents into oblivion. Notice the absence of one arrogant 1st year squirt. Notice that they are all 3rd year students. There are too many players of impressive calibre, so I have to structure it in such a way that I won't be murdered by insulted regulars. Yup. Was thinking that a Seiichi-Fuji pair would be a mental game, no longer a tennis match, and it would be cruel to send their opponents to some psychiatric ward, so I sc
rapped the idea. I mean, the various bucchous, who ALL play Singles, would be mortally offended if mortal enemy / underclassmen aka juniors were given Singles slots so... Yup. Thats what I created. Hope it may be able to function. Hope I don't get stoned. Well, comment.

Pause

Man. Time really does really pass very quickly. I just received my Promotional Exam schedule from my Civics Rep, and well, everything is scheduled to start and end in a month's time. Imagine, thats it for this academic year! Its as if time hurtles past our windows, although when all we see are the flat plains the train seems to be crawlig its way forward inch by inch, it actually is moving really fast. How I wish I could freeze time like Miranda Lotto from D. Gray-man, okay, that is a seriously bad example, or better yet, Yukino from Gatekeepers. Hah. I highly doubt if there are many people ou there who have heard of the anime, not mentioning actually watched it. Sighx. AXN days. Good times, good times. Oh, there actually is a Gatekeepers 2, but even I have yet to watch it. Oh well. It is pretty old, some 4 years or so ago at least, and there isn't a manga, so I don't fault the lack of fans. Not like (dare I say it?), Prince of Tennis with MUSICALS and MOVIES and LIVE ACTION... Goodness. Its like there is an entire Prince Of Tennis EMPIRE out there. And I happen to be part of it. Gasp.

Anyhow. Was surfing the Internet for more Tyki pictures when I chanced upon s
ome... interesting fanart of Tyki and Tyki X Kanda. In the wrong sort of way. I truly wonder at the mental state of the artist who conceived such fabulous works of art. In fact, it has troubled me to the extent that I feel like requesting for the country of residence of the said artist, and submit, on behalf of them, the necessary application form to the nearest psychotic ward. The artist made Skin, with him penchant for candy and violence, in comparison, more suited for civilisation and society than he, or she, will ever be in this lifetime.

I want an iPod for my birthday/ Christmas Present. Either is totally alright with me. I don't need one with 8GB of memory space, 2GB or 4GB will be sufficient. urgh. And I want it to have a cover as well. No idea what colou
r I want it to be, bu tin truth, I'm okay with any colour as long as I get one. Yup. As in As Soon As Possible. I suppose I'm not really a tech-geek type of girl, but I really do like user-friendly devices. One example of what not to give me is the new Sony memory stick cum mp3 player. It is compatible ONLY with SonicStage, not one of the most user-friendly music software that I can think of. iTunes has a cleaner structure. I'm not saying I'm an Apple fan or anything, I found the iPhone an ugly, useless, complex, irritating waste of research, but I admit that I like things to be simple, efficient and effective. So there.

Was reading fanficts (again), and I realised that most of the Tyki fics are rather stereotypical in nature. I mean, its either Tyki X Lavi, Tyki X Kanda or Tyki X Komui, and he is always the evil sexual pervert harassing the poor Exorcists, or the passionate Noah caught between his true love, often yaoi in nature, and his mission. Yadda yadda yadda. Gosh. Why can't someone write something with more content? I mean, there are okay, even amusing fics of other anime available. One super good example would be Starting Over and some others that I can't fin
d again ( I'm sorry for not adding them to my favourites, really I am.).

Okay. This is becoming something of a bad habit. I am blogging far too late to not get into trouble with my mom. Its as if she doesn't realise that there is no other possible time slot available to me. Yeah. And I agree. Those Civics and Moral Education lessons that they made us sit through all the way until I was 16 totally did not leave ANY significant impact on me. All it taught me was that I could slack and do other stuff during. what a waste of time.

Okay, as part of my determination to include pictures in all my posts from now on... here is a spoiler for all the D. Gray-Man fans out there who are still stuck in the beginning. No explanations so that you can pretend that you never saw it. Haha. Self delusion, my dears, is so not going to work.

Sorry

Okie. I apologise for my unexplained hiatus from blogging. I know, I know, I'm an irritating person because I keep everyone hanging in the air. All the time. Okie. So I apologise. I promise that I will put in more effort into maintaining this blog. Sheesh.

Its the September holidays, I know its super obvious, and I have yet to complete even half the amount of work allocated to me, not to mention to start on my revision. And I was cocky enough to want to score minimum of straight Cs in the Promotional Exam. Looks like I seriously have to start working harder and smarter to make my dream come through. Interestingly enough, it also applies to my decision to make my weight decrease to 51kg, tops. A lot of resolutions, all which I hardly ever keep. Sighx. And there is no way that I am revealing my real weight online. EVER.

My current anime craze is now D. Gray-Man. Specifically, Earl Tyki Mikk (or however you wish to romanize his glorious name). Lets see if I can get a picture of his drool-worthy countenance for all the poor uninitiated rabbits out there. Tyki is seriously damn cool. His weapon are butterflies. Called Teasers. Yup. Organ-eating, blood-thirsty, delicate little purple butterflies. Yup. Amazing, isn't it?. I wish he could lend me a few. Kill a couple of irritating people for me... slowly... painfully. Topping the list is the person who came up with the ridiculous idea of PW and my brother. Yup. LOOng story. Shall not elaborate. I totally adore the black version of Tyki. As in A-D-O-R-E. In a way, SOMEONE mentioned that he is rather similar to SOMEBODY. I guess, quoting Tyki's apt saying... The fun is in having BOTH the black and white versions. I simply can't resist his whatever-anything-attitude packaged in an impeccable tuxedo. Absolutely. Irresistible. So nice and yummy and... Now why can't I have an older brother like that? Or better yet... Tee hee. And his hair is a complete and utter materialisation of his attitude. So awesome. Sighx.

Oh. His seiyuu is also one of the 'big boys' in the seiyuu community. Tyki, voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa, shares the same voice as Naraku from Inuyasha, Seiichirou Tatsumi from Yami no Mitsuei, Dante in Devil May Cry, Sephiroth in FF VII Advent Children and Last Order, is Hideaki Nakajima in Gakuen Heaven, the super cool Nue ( Minamoto no Yorihisa's childhood 'playmate' ) in Harukanaru Toki no Naka de, Cesario in Kiddy Grade (although he hardly talks, what a waste right? ), Conrad in Kyou Kara Maoh!, Takumi in NANA, Gale Glory in Rave Master, Homura in Gensoumaiden Saiyuki, and loads of other characters...
Did anyone notice that his 'bloodlust' version looks strangely familiar?...

Hmm. Feel like applying to an overseas university. Singapore is too boring an academic arena. But where shall I go? And what shall I choose to study? Anyone with suggestions or answers are more then welcome to leave a note. Then there is obviously the cost of living, tuition fees, transportation... In short, unless I somehow manage to obtain a scholarship, there is no way that I will ever be able to apply for any university outside Singapore. Sheesh. Talk about dashed hopes.
OMG. Just realised that the Noah family, in D. Gray-Man duh, is something of an example of a dysfunctional, yet, starngely, still functional 'family'. I mean the Earl is well, the Millenium Earl still. Tyki is the big brother, Road is the little sisiter, the baby of the family, Skin is the violent and psychotic cousin, Jasdero and Debitto are the crazy psychotic twins, Lulubell is the family pet... And there you have it. A perfect example of order within chaos. Haha. I guess I'm so tired that I'm going crazy too.
Kk. Shall go to bed now...
