This brings to mind the idea of Bildungsroman, life as learning, and the idea of a picaresque model, life as a journey, which I learnt in Literature from my very dedicated teacher. Thank you to all the people who shaped my social and academic learning. Ganshoushimasu.
On a lighter, yet equally depressing note, I sobbed away 2 hours in front of the television while watching Moon Child, a movie with both Japanese and Chinese dialogue, starring Hyde from L'arc-en-ciel, Gackt, Wang Lee Hom among others. Really touching show, amidst all the gun-slinging, mass-shooting action. About loyalty and friendship, and a greater love not of fair lips and smooth skin, but one bound by tribulations and blood. Yep. I'm sort of paraphrasing Wilfred Owen. I do study Literature you know. Sigh. The actors were not particularly handsome or physically appealing in any manner, well maybe except Kanata Hongo who was the child version of the protaganist, I mean he had this awfully winsome and innocent smile..., but they really made me cry my poor heart out when the characters all died. It was a movie of characters. Not caricatures.
To be more positive, I shall put down things of little importance that make my sun rise and moon set.
Leys start with my ideal line-up for Prince Of Tennis:
Option 1, Kikimaru-Fuji Doubles 2, Oshitari-Gakuto Doubles 1, Sanada Singles 3, Tachibana Singles 2, Keigo-chan Singles 1.
Or,
Option 2, Sanada-Fuji Doubles 2, Keigo-Seiichi Doubles 1, "Perfect-Tennis-Guy" Singles 3, Fuji Singles 2, Tachibana Singles 1.
Kaen says that my Keigo-Seiichi pairing would win not because of their impressive tennis skills, but because they frightened their opponent to death. I agree. Its like choosing to be killed by either Apollo or Poseidon. Between a rock and a hard place. Yup. The kind of Doubles pair thats made to zap all their opponents into oblivion. Notice the absence of one arrogant 1st year squirt. Notice that they are all 3rd year students. There are too many players of impressive calibre, so I have to structure it in such a way that I won't be murdered by insulted regulars. Yup. Was thinking that a Seiichi-Fuji pair would be a mental game, no longer a tennis match, and it would be cruel to send their opponents to some psychiatric ward, so I scrapped the idea. I mean, the various bucchous, who ALL play Singles, would be mortally offended if mortal enemy / underclassmen aka juniors were given Singles slots so... Yup. Thats what I created. Hope it may be able to function. Hope I don't get stoned. Well, comment.
